Blog # 13 Is the Green revolution good or bad? Support your position.

I believe the Green Revolution is overall good. There are many advantages and disadvantages in the green revolution such as it increased crop production in India but it also encourages the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Going green is saving money as well as saving our planet. Currently we have about 3 billion people alive and well fed because of the Green Revolution and i don't believe we should switch up our methods now. So far we have been using the transformation of agriculture sine 1945 and it has been some what of a success besides some of the critics. The new developments of wheat could be used to feed the rapidly growing population of the country.

BLOG 6 Discuss the importance of eating lower on the food chain.

Eating lower on the food chain is more healthy due to the fact that they are first and they don't have any of the fatty and nasty foods that accumulate as your rise on the food chain. Eating low on the food chain significantly reduces the threat of pesticide residues as well. Tests in Britain have showed pesticide residue levels to be the highest in meat eaters, lower in lacto-vegetarians, and lowest in total vegetarians. This is because the contaminant goes through the additional link in the ecological chain, and the animal concentrates the pollutant in its body. Overall eating lower on the food chain is healthier foods and could help with weight loss and such.

Some animals and plants are individually stronger why is it weaker animals and plants thrive ?

I believe weaker animals and plants thrive because the weaker animals and plants tend to be smaller so they don't need the same amount of food and natural resources as a animal that is tiny like a cockroach survive because they don't have to work so hard for food and shelter. Also, if the weaker animals and plants such as producers and decomposers died out then the bigger animals such as the carnivores would have nothing to eat. Also, i think smaller animals are more durable and less confrontational and don't kill each other as much.
